Speedhare is a community project that centres around old-school flat-sharing. We run WhatsApp and Facebook groups for landlords to post their rooms, and potential new flatmates to post their requests.
Our goal is to fight back against out of control rent increases, illegal short-term lets, and generally make Barcelona a nicer place to live for immigrants/expats/digital nomad and locals alike.
We also offer advice and specialist communities like a flea-market, meetups/events, creative collaboration, pet advice, and more.

The rental market in Barcelona is out of control right now. Short term lets, managed apartments, “co-living” spaces, and buy-to-let investors are making it near impossible to live here for locals and immigrants alike.
For those who struggle…
Some groups are more vulnerable than others, and for them it’s even harder to find a place to live in Barcelona at the moment. Whether it’s trans people, recent immigrants, refugees, or simply families living on a below average income.
